I had been a yo yo dieter for more than 30 years and had just about given up hope of losing the excess pounds until I stumbled upon Real Living Nutrition and Roseanne Rust in April, 2007. I started with the Mini Diet Makeover and was so impressed with the indepth and helpful analysis that I signed up for the Balance Program. Over the course of a year, I lost 40 pounds and to date, have been successful in maintaining my pre-yo yo diet weight of 115 pounds. I have lost weight in the past, but would gain it back after hitting a plateau and becoming discouraged. Roseanne skillfully guided me through the plateaus and helped keep me moving in the right direction. The Balance program is a way of life, not a "diet" and I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about improving their quality of life.

When I signed up for the Balance Program, my goal wasn’t just weight loss, but building healthy food habits.  I didn’t want to “go on a diet,” but instead, I wanted to change some bad habits and hopefully lose some weight along the way.  Rosanne Rust and the Balance Program fulfilled both of these goals for me.  The “diet make over” portion of the program made me realize that I had a lot of good habits, but like many things, there was room for improvement and change.  With a relaxed yet focused approach, Rosanne helped me make those changes in little steps.  Because it wasn’t a drastic overhaul of my lifestyle I was able to easily incorporate these changes into my daily habits.                

As a busy mother of three young children, I never felt pressured by either Rosanne or the Balance Program; it never felt like another thing on my “to do” list.  In the end, not only did I benefit from everything that I learned and the changes that I made, so did my family.  It was well worth the effort!

Given Confidence to Make Healthy Food Choices

Ursula is amazing!  She changed my life with regards to food and dieting.  I’ve struggled with food and weight for 40 years.  Food was not my friend.  I’d been on more diets than I can remember and had been to Weight Watchers 20+ times.  One of the major factors in my success in working with Ursula was her coaching me on how to eat healthy based upon the foods that I enjoy and my lifestyle.  We also focused on being healthy rather than "losing weight".   

I lost 9 pounds, learned to enjoy food, and was given the confidence to make healthy food choices at all times throughout the day and when dining out.  She worked with me on eating more often and provided endless food suggestions.  It was one of the best investments in “me” that I’ve made.

Ditched the Diet and Took on Healthy Living

As a trainer and self-described gym rat I have heard of countless diet programs.  At 46 years old I have tried a few diets myself.  To make a long story short, all of them helped me lose weight but none of them helped me to keep it off.  The Balance Program and Ursula’s coaching has helped me to realize that my nutrition is beyond the number on the scale.  By learning how to balance my meals and meal times, I have been able to better fuel my exercise routine, burn more calories, and maintain a healthy weight.

I always tease people that I've lost 200 pounds but it's always the same 10 pounds!  I lose it, it comes back, I lose it, and so forth.  I have dropped and kept 15 pounds off for over 2 months...through the holiday season and the Super Bowl.  This is no small feat for me.

I have to give credit to Ursula for educating and helping me to realize that by making the right healthy food choices, most of the time, and maintaining an active lifestyle I will lose the pounds and fat, I will gain the muscle and fitness, and my body will find its balance.

Wow- I've learned a lot. Great program. I loved the sessions with the dietitian, looked forward to her feedback. I think its great that you can use the tools and read your feedback later on as a refresher. Good value for the money. I approached the Mini Diet Makeover Assessment with a diet that was already quite healthy but left some room for improvement. Meri's suggestions and modifications to my diet and lifestyle were very helpful and informative. It has been a week since I began implementing them and I notice a change already -- I am cutting down on emotional-eating, cutting back on sugar-based snacks, and practicing better portion control.
